Cleveland Clinic just bought 40 acres in Tradition for a major hospital expansion
Cleveland Clinic Tradition is expanding big. 40 acres acquired, plus a massive ER expansion underway in Vero Beach. Healthcare on the 772 is leveling up.
Cleveland Clinic Tradition has acquired 40 acres of land adjacent to their existing facility for a major hospital expansion. The details of what's being built haven't been fully announced, but 40 acres is enormous — that's room for additional hospital buildings, medical offices, specialty centers, and parking.
This is a big deal for the Tradition area and western PSL. Cleveland Clinic Tradition is already one of the most important institutions in the community — it's where babies are born, emergencies are treated, and specialists are seen. More capacity means shorter wait times and more services available locally.
Meanwhile, Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach is in the middle of a multi-phase emergency department expansion. The hospital sees about 55,000 ER visits per year and is adding 20 Flex Care treatment spaces (now under construction) plus 8 additional acute care rooms and a redesigned main entrance coming in late 2026.
A $5 million donation from the Clark Foundation made the Vero expansion possible. Cleveland Clinic also recently acquired the Orthopaedic Center of Vero Beach, bringing advanced orthopaedic, spine care, and physical therapy under the Cleveland Clinic umbrella.
The Treasure Coast's population has been growing faster than its healthcare infrastructure. Cleveland Clinic is clearly making a bet that this growth isn't slowing down — and investing accordingly. For 772 residents, that means better care, closer to home.
